The Word Became Flesh
The Word Became Flesh
2019
Inspired by a poem by Daniel Partner/Debbie Zepick
When days are cold and grey and short and nights grow so long
Cause me God, to sing this song
The Word became flesh
When friends and loves and lives can’t know my pain, my doubt, my fear
Open up my ears and let me hear:
The Word, the Word became flesh
Chorus
The Word as flesh, a babe, a child, a man, a man of sorrows
God with us, with dusty feet, servant King
Acquainted with grief
Instrumental verse
When heart and will and thought would stray, presume you are far away
Let me touch the truth and say:
The Word, the Word became flesh
The Word as flesh, a babe, a child, a man of sorrows
Acquainted with grief, acquainted with grief
Since Word and flesh and life were one to show the world your love
Lift human eyes to see above:
The Word, the Word became flesh.
